We ordered from Lan Sheng because of the reviews, including a Michelin rating in their window. The service on the phone and delivery was very good, accommodating of special requests, and friendly. But the food was not very good. It was less like good authentic Chinese cuisine, and more like the NYC take out that you order with a big menu sheet and a golf pencil through a protective glass window. The Dan Dan noodles were cold with little sauce, which was not very tasty. The entrees were oily, and the dumplings consisted of more loose wrapper than meat filling. That's four down and hundreds to go on our search for good Chinese in Midtown. But our experience has taught us that we can no longer trust the reviews we read online for this part of town.
